Learning Environments Teaching & research services for staff

iTunes U public channel

The University of Melbourne is one of six Australian Universities to have a public channel on Apple’s iTunes U, providing free access to downloadable educational content including guest speeches, public lectures, dean’s lectures and other recorded university events to a world-wide audience as podcasts, videos or PDF documents.

Learning Environments is providing a no-cost service to assist Faculties and Centres to reach a global public audience with convenient access to their showcase of recorded materials for easy download to mobile devices (e.g. mobile phones or MP3 players), or viewed online.

You need iTunes installed on your computer to access The University of Melbourne on iTunes U - download iTunes.

Over 22,022 content items have been downloaded from the University of Melbourne’s iTunes U public site since June 2008, averaging around 500 or 600 each week. Downloading items means much more than flicking through website pages!

To provide event material for the public iTunes U site contact the Learning Environments service desk on 46600, or submit an online enquiry.

If you are planning or organising a special University event on campus (e.g. public lecture, guest lecture or academic forum), consider recording the event to publish to the University of Melbourne’s iTunes U public site.
